Senior Accountant

Fearey is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join its dynamic team, a leading and growing public relations company operating in a fast-paced industry. The Sr. Accountant role will support management and other team members to strategize and coordinate the monthly financial close, process improvement projects, and other various internal reporting and ad hoc requests as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years relevant Accounting experience
  • CPA preferred (In process or Active)
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and GAAP
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and high-level of accuracy
  • Able to handle extremely sensitive information requiring the utmost discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in Xero Financial Software, Dext Receipt Bank, Gusto Payroll, Bill.com & Harvest time tracking software.



  • Accountable for most aspects of the monthly financial close process and corresponding deadlines
  • Prepare and perform monthly & yearly financial statement package preparation
  • Assist in the preparation of yearly budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate and collaborate efficiently with other staff, finance and other operational personnel
  • Perform monthly cash flow analysis
  • Process Payroll on a semi-monthly basis
  • Coordinate with management on weekly Accounts Payable processing
  • Assist in client invoice billing preparation & receivables collections
  • Prepare support for external tax & regulatory entities
  • Process WA B&O Tax entry with payment
  • Preparation of journal entries for accounting matters that require a senior accountant level skillset
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts & Financial Statement Templates
  • Prepare accurate and quality balance sheet reconciliations monthly
  • Works closely with the accounting team to maintain appropriate internal controls over certain aspects of accounting transaction processing and reporting, as directed
  • Facilitate process improvements and efficiencies in the financial close process, as directed
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams such as operations to streamline accounting processes, as directed
  • Assist with special projects, as needed
