Fearey has supported worst case scenarios on construction sites, from a crane working collapsing onto Seattle streets, tragically killing innocent lives and injuring others. Fearey was brought on within two hours of the situation. In the short-term, support included providing timely and accurate information with the media (in partnership with the company’s legal team), with messaging crafted by Fearey; as well as monitoring for social and media coverage of the incident. In the long-term, the focus was on reputation management and ongoing litigation matters. Fearey worked alongside attorneys to navigate the nuances of all legal cases. The results both short- and long-term were positive for the client.
Municipal Issues: Officer-Involved Shootings, etc.
A local municipality experienced an officer-involved shooting that resulted in community outrage, protests and national media attention. Fearey worked with City and police leadership to provide clear messaging about the incident and in support of those assembling peacefully to decrease community tensions. By creating clear messaging, managing media relations and providing regular proactive and reactive communications assistance the City, with the help of Fearey, was able to move past the crisis phase and being repairing its standing with the community. Results included management of 100+ media requests and distribution of statements; limiting the potential negative reputational impact for the City; and helping to set a path to repair relationships with communities that did have a negative reaction.
