Samish Indian Nation
The Project
The 2020 US Census occurs once every 10 years and determines more than tens of thousands dollars in grants for the Samish Indian Nation, an Indigenous tribe located in Anacortes, Washington. Indigenous nations are considered especially difficult communities to count by the Census. To gear up for the survey in April and ensure as many citizens register with the Tribe as possible, Fearey conducted outreach via traditional media and on social media platforms using the Census hashtag #ShareYourStory to raise awareness on the importance of responding to the Census survey.
