World Water Day and HaloSource: A Pioneer in International Clean Water Initiatives

Thursday, March 22nd is World Water Day, a time when the international community comes together to recognize the importance of water and continue a discourse surrounding sustainable, clean water for everyone.

Clean water may seem like a normal part of life for many US citizens, and we tend to ignore the significance of its availability, but for many in this world, clean water is considered a luxury.
According to the World Health Organization in 2015, 844 million people lack even a basic drinking-water service, including 159 million people who are dependent on surface water. Globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with feces, increasing the likelihood of transmitting diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio.
Contaminated drinking water is estimated to cause 502,000 diarrheal deaths each year and by 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas.
The statistics above certainly paint a bleak picture, but there is hope. World Water Day is meant to bring awareness to this issue, promoting solution seeking engagement that crosses borders and cultures.
Hope in HaloSource – the astrea water bottle
In honor of World Water Day, we want to draw attention to the cutting-edge water sanitation technology our Fearey client (and friend) has developed. HaloSource is a clean water technology company that provides safe drinking water to more than 10 million people in China, India, and Latin America through their HaloPure innovations and international partnerships.
10 million people, that’s not a drop in the bucket.

They believe in doing well by doing good, and that mantra is embodied in their latest development, the astrea water bottle. For 20 years, HaloSource has considered safe drinking water a developing-world problem, but Americans are increasingly concerned by the amount of lead present in their own public water systems – and with good reason. Designed by scientists and PhDs, this flagship product is the world’s most effective daily-use filtering water bottle, removing lead to the highest National Sanitation Foundation standard — NSF 53.
Kicking off its crowdfunding campaign on World Water Day, HaloSource is the innovation engine behind astrea products and has enlisted the help of Indiegogo to launch its first consumer product.
Clean water is a passion at The Fearey Group.
The astrea water bottle provides peace of mind to US citizens concerned with the amount of lead present in their drinking water and is slated to make incredible leaps in the water sanitation effort both domestically and internationally. Recently launched in India, HaloSource has committed to donating a portion of its sales from astrea drinking water purification products to Water.org’s global efforts; and pending the crowdfunding campaign hits its goal, HaloSource intends to donate $5 for each astrea bottle to a nonprofit doing on-the-ground work to address the lead issue in the U.S.

Clean water availability is near and dear to The Fearey Group. Having a vested interest in Ethiopia through the Woliso CarePoint site, Fearey has been committed to lifting up the lives of those living within this village. Over the last four years, our team of volunteers has been able to provide Woliso families with a clean water system, a sanitary, running water latrine, and a shower facility on the CarePoint grounds.
HaloSource is passionate about providing water purifying solutions that make a difference around the world, and that’s something we at The Fearey Group can get behind. We wholeheartedly support their efforts across the board and are honored to count them among our valued clients who affect positive change.
On World Water Day, consider supporting Halosource’s crowdfunding campaign, by being the first to purchase an astrea water bottle on Indiegogo and “Kick the Lead Out!” alongside our Fearey group team. As an Indiegogo backer, you can purchase a bottle for $45.00 (a 25% discount). If you jump online day one (March 22nd) the bottle is only $36.00! Let’s work together to make clean water a normal part of daily life for everyone.
