#FearlessIntern – Lily Scearce

Hi, my name is Lily Scearce, and I’m the current Production Assistant at Fearey. I recently graduated from Gonzaga University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Marketing and Spanish.

Last year I fell in love with the industry while interning at a communication agency in New York. My psychology background helped me fine-tune my reading and writing skills and understand the importance of communication. That, combined with my marketing skills, has helped me with content creation, media relations and more.

I knew I wanted to live in Seattle post-grad, and one connection through another led me to Aaron Blank and Fearey. After a couple of rounds of interviews, I got an email telling me I got the job. I received this news just two days after graduation and was over the moon. It felt like everything was lining up just the way I had planned.

With all that excitement, starting your first job after graduating college is still very daunting, but everybody at Fearey is so welcoming. It helps that those other employees also started as Production Assistants. It’s nice to have people who went through the same experience as you. In this past month as a production assistant, I have already learned so much by jumping into various projects and expanding my PR knowledge.

Even though Fearey is a fully remote agency, I have met up with several local coworkers for coffee or at a coworking space. I have also had the opportunity to attend various in-person client events and gather content for them. This has really helped me feel a part of a strong community here in Seattle. After living here for a couple of months, I can say I love the city and can’t wait to see what the future holds at Fearey.
